The 7th grade STEM students have been working hard to put the Engineering Design Process into practice through the creation of their own catapults/slingshots!

Mrs. Sturges' Little Warhawk VIP was Kensley. She likes the color purple, swimming, playing with her pets, spending time with her siblings, riding bikes, and deer scouting. Kensley wants to be a gymnastics teacher when she grows up. A fun fact about Kensley is she can whistle!

Congratulations to the 7th/8th grade boys basketball teams! Both teams finished their seasons with an 11-1 record.

Please have a parent or guardian notify the office to ensure you're eligible for open campus during that NIACC period since the class will be completed and no longer in session. This process only needs to happen once to ensure that our district and parents/guardians are on the same page. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Mr. H. or the office. This will end when the second semester starts on January 13th and a new schedule will be issued for students. NIACC is hosting a "Bustin' Out the Blue" campus visit event on Saturday, January 25th beginning at 12:45 PM. There will be a program, campus tours and free admission to the women's and men's basketball games in the afternoon. There are over $4,500 worth of prizes, gift cards and four $1,000 scholarships will be given away. You must be present to win. Lunch is provided and everyone who attends will received a free t-shirt! The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is now available for you to fill out. It is highly recommended that senior students planning to attend college in the fall of 2025 file the FAFSA. You can access the FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov. You can do this on your own, but there is also help available with this process. ICAN (Iowa College Access Network) is now accepting FAFSA appointments. West Fork 8th graders participated in Discover Day at NIACC Tuesday afternoon. Students were given a career assessment, and were split into groups based on their interests. They were able to participate in a number of different sessions. Thank you to NIACC for hosting the event!

Congrats to the 8th grade boys on their win over GHV last night! The 7th/8th grade teams have their last game of the season vs. North Butler today in Rockwell. 7th grade game starts at 4:15.
