- Monday during Warhawk time you will receive your check out sheet. This will include any outstanding fees that are expected to be paid before you are issued your diploma. It is very important that you are at Warhawk time on Monday.
Fees include: unpaid registration fees, negative lunch balances, library books, computer, bag and charger, NIACC books.
If you are interested in being a class officer or on student council, please fill out the forms in the self-nomination packet. You can pick these up in the office. The completed forms are due back to Mrs. Ubben on Friday, May 10, 2024, by 3:00 p.m.
- Football Cheerleading Tryouts for fall 2024 will be held on Wednesday, May 22, at 2:20pm in the large south gym. For questions contact Yolanda 641-494-7963.
- Sheffield Care Center is looking for students interested in dietary and housekeeping/laundry. Willing to work around school and extracurricular activities with competitive pay. If interested, contact Katie @ kwatters@sheffieldcc.com or (641) 892-4691.
- The WF Wellness Center is currently hiring! If interested, email Mr. Borchardt at tyler.borchardt@westforkschool.org. Applications can be picked up at the wellness center front desk!
- Please remind students that Warhawk time is MANDATORY attendance!! Students MUST check in with their Warhawk teacher before they head to an intervention! Seniors are REQUIRED to attend Monday only. Thank you!
- There are gently used track spikes outside of Shelley’s office if anyone is in need- sizes: 15, 8, 6.5, 6
- The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) opened on December 31st. If you are a senior or have a child who is a senior planning to attend college in the fall of 2024, it is highly recommended that you complete the FAFSA. There is help available with this process. ICAN (Iowa College Aid Network) is scheduling FAFSA appointments beginning January 3rd. You can access the scheduling system here: https://www.schedulicity.com/scheduling/ICARUB. You can access the FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov. We also hope to schedule filing appointments at West Fork in the near future – watch for more information. - Classification of Absences: All absences will be classified in one of two ways:
#1 Excused Absence – Parent has notified the school and the school approves. No penalty. All work may be made up. These are limited to: personal illness, professional appointments, school activities, funerals, family vacations, emergency work at home with parents, or personal family issues – which must be shared with the principal or counselor. ● Doctor notes should be turned into the office to excuse the absence ● Oversleeping will not be excused.
#2 Unexcused Absence/Truancy -Absence for all or part of a day without prior knowledge and permission of either the student’s parent or the principal. Credit for work may be withheld. Students may be required to make up missed time or be issued a detention A letter will be sent home after 5, 10, and 15 absences each quarter Meeting with the principal.
- Just a reminder: When students are entering or leaving the building, please use the northeast entrance by the office. Anytime any student enters the building after 8:10am or exits the building before 3:10pm, You must check in or out at the office.
- If a student is absent, the parent is asked to notify the office. The school phone system is set up to take messages
- 24 hours a day (for calls before and after the office is open). Upon returning to school after being absent from the building, the student is required to check in with the
- office.
- Before leaving for any reason during the school day, the student is required to check in with the office before leaving the building. If the school has not been notified and the student is absent the office will attempt to notify the parents or guardian. Either with an email from JMC or a phone call.
